Job Description

Workforce Scholar Internship

Dallas College offers an internship program designed to provide individuals with practical work experience and knowledge in a field related to their degree. Interns will shadow and receive training from experienced professionals, working under close mentorship to undertake various activities and projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shadowing office personnel and training in diverse tasks.
  • Assisting with research, data gathering, and presentation preparation.
  • Performing clerical duties, managing databases, and inputting records.
  • Communicating progress and challenges to supervisors.
  • Ensuring timesheets are accurate and submitted on time.
  • Interacting with diverse stakeholders and constituents within the Dallas College network.
  • Performing other assigned duties.

  • Ability to follow guidelines, procedures, policies, and protocols.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a professional manner to achieve common goals.

Physical Requirements

Normal physical job functions are performed within a standard office environment. Accommodations may be made for individuals with physical challenges. Occasional lifting and carrying of materials up to 30 pounds may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university/college program pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a related field. Official transcripts will be required.
  • No prior work experience required.
  • Part-time interns are eligible to work up to 19.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are typically between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, as scheduled.
  • May be subject to a criminal background check and/or fingerprint check.
