Position Summary
The candidate will be responsible for engineering material handling systems, focusing on developing conveyor and sortation solutions for parcel and tote applications. This role requires integrating Daifuku manufactured and third-party hardware to meet or exceed customer expectations. The candidate will work in a dynamic environment requiring collaboration across controls, software engineering and project management teams. The role includes performing engineering and estimating duties for various industry subsystems, managing system retrofits, upgrades, and aftermarket sales activities.
Design/Enhance Systems
- Refine scope of work received from customer or sales equipment application standards to meet customer requirements.
- Design and enhance conveyor systems including receiving, shipping, picking, packing, routing, and buffer subsystems.
Product Design Review
Ensure compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements.
Technical Coordination
Coordinate activities related to technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
Drawing Creation
Create approval, permit, and installation drawings using AutoCAD.
Quote and Purchase Orders
Obtain material and product quotes from vendors and works with purchasing teams to issue purchase orders.
Project Monitoring
Monitor project schedules, engineering time, and material costs. Able to prioritize and manage multiple assigned projects in Execution Phases and Quote Phases.
Team Collaboration
Work with other project team disciplines to ensure the engineered solution fits within system constraints.
Customer Interface
Travel up to 20% for measuring buildings, inventorying equipment, commissioning systems, and interfacing with customers.
Continuous Improvement
Participate in continuous improvement projects.
Proposal Development
Assist in quoting and proposal development with the Direct Amazon Account Manager. This includes working with Amazon for scope development driving pricing and proposals for all aftermarket opportunities.
Solutions Development
Estimates project costs, including working with other Wynright groups. Support sales by visiting job sites for customer meetings and surveys.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical or Industrial, or equivalent experience
- Minimum Of 4 Years Of Material Handling Related Experience
Technical Proficiency
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Proficiency in Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, Teams)
Project Management
Ability to handle intermediate-sized project assignments with minimal supervision.
Industry Knowledge
Knowledge of the material handling business and ability to assist across teams and divisions.
Communication Skills
Strong command of English, both written and verbal. Ability to effectively interface with internal and external customers, vendors, consulting engineers, architects, and installers.
