About the role
Data Analyst - Claims Solutions Group
DAC Beachcroft's Claims Solutions Data Analytics team provides analytics products to both internal and external clients in a wide range of areas, including performance and operational analysis, market trends, predictive modelling and fraud detection. This is an area of rapid development, with the team leading the way in making the Claims Solutions Group a truly intelligence led organisation.
We are now recruiting for a Data Analyst to join the team, where the successful candidate will be responsible for the analysis of business, client and market data within the Claims Solutions Group.
This is a remote role, with some travel included when needed to our core offices which are Newport, Birmingham, Glasgow & Belfast.
Role Purpose
The Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, analysing, and interpreting data to provide actionable insights that support business decision-making. The role focuses on delivering accurate management information, identifying trends and risks, and improving data quality, reporting, and insight across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Insight
- Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities.
- Translate data into clear, meaningful insights for operational teams and senior stakeholders.
- Produce regular and ad-hoc analysis to support business performance, strategy, and planning.
- Provide sector and competitor benchmarking.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure accurate data capture, monitoring, validation and reporting within the business, and to source relevant up-to-date market intelligence.
Reporting & Dashboards
- Ensure reports are accurate, timely, and aligned to agreed definitions and KPIs.
- Continuously improve reporting efficiency through automation and improved data models.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand reporting and analytical requirements.
- Present findings clearly to non-technical audiences, using visualisations and summaries.
- Support decision-making by explaining insights, assumptions, and limitations of the data.
Data Quality & Governance
- Monitor data quality and highlight issues, inconsistencies, or gaps.
- Work with data owners and system teams to improve data capture and integrity.
- Adhere to data governance, privacy, and security standards.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve analytical processes, reporting methods, and data flows.
- Contribute to the development of standard metrics, definitions, and best practice.
- Support wider analytics and transformation initiatives as required.
Who you are
Essential
- Proven experience in a Data Analyst or MI Analyst role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, formulas, data modelling).
- Experience using BI tools such as Qlik, Power BI (or similar).
- Ability to communicate complex data clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable
- Experience with SQL and/or Python for data analysis and automation.
- Understanding of data governance, data quality, and controls.
- Experience working in a regulated or professional services environment.
- Exposure to forecasting, trend analysis, or performance management.
- A strong understanding of legal sector or insurance industry business context, with the ability to apply this to the analysis.
Qualifications
Degree preferable or equivalent experience in a numerate or analytical discipline such as Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics. Relevant professional or technical training (e.g. Power BI, SQL, data analytics certifications) is desirable.
