Job Description

About CynLr

Just like a baby’s brain, CynLr Visual Intelligence stack makes Robots to instinctively see & pick any object under any ambience, without any training. Today, a robot that can fit a screw into a nut without slipping a thread, doesn’t exist. Imagine what it would take for a robot to assemble a Smartphone or a car by putting together 1000s of parts with varied shapes and weights, all in random orientations. Thus, factories become complex, needing heavy customization of their environment.

CynLr-enabled visual robots intuitively learn to handle even unknown objects, on-the-fly, eliminating the need for rigid fixtures, pre-training, or environment customization. This enables a universal alternative to custom automation thus simplifying factory lines into modular LEGO-like micro-factories that can be rapidly reconfigured as products change.

At the core of CynLr lies a fundamentally new approach to machine vision. Unlike conventional vision systems that rely on image recognition and heuristics, CynLr’s Vision and ML stacks are deeply inspired by neuroscience, modelling how biological vision understands shape, geometry, and interaction rather than appearance alone. To support this, CynLr builds its hardware, sensors, compute pipelines, and learning stacks from scratch, tightly coupling perception, decision-making, and action.

This integration allows CynLr to operate in conditions that defeat traditional automation: variable lighting, cluttered environments, unknown objects, and high precision manipulation, unlocking automation use cases that have remained unsolved for decades. By rethinking vision as an intelligent, adaptive sense rather than a static tool, CynLr is redefining how robots perceive, reason, and interact with the physical world.

About the Role:

As a System Administrator at CynLr, you will design, build, and evolve IT infrastructure, processes, and practices that support research, product development, and operations, while ensuring efficient, secure, and sustainable usage. Process for the sake of process will not be entertained; utility and convenience take precedence, and every system must justify its existence by improving real outcomes.

CynLr's ambition demands not only breakthrough algorithms and hardware, but also a robust, adaptive, and human-centric IT infrastructure that allows teams to operate with minimal friction and maximum focus. As CynLr scales across disciplines, tools, and geographies, IT infrastructure becomes the information backbone of the organization. The goal of this role is not merely uptime or compliance, but to augment human productivity, eliminate hidden delays and context-switching costs, and ensure that technology remains an enabler rather than a constraint.

Key Responsibilities

  • A. Operate
    • Run and maintain IT infrastructure supporting research, engineering, and operations at scale.
    • Administer the Office 365 ecosystem (SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, identity and access).
    • Operate and secure endpoint devices across Windows, Android, BYOD, and corporate assets.
    • Manage network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi, and VPNs.
    • Perform hands-on monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution across hardware, OS, network, and applications.
  • B. Build
    • Design and deploy Azure AD, Intune, and SharePoint policies for secure and organized access.
    • Set up and maintain hardware infrastructure—laptops, workstations, servers, networking, and conferencing systems.
    • Configure and support Windows Server, Linux, virtualization platforms (VMware / Hyper-V).
    • Establish remote workflows and inter-office connectivity to enable distributed teams.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with hardware, software, and service vendors.
  • C. Improve
    • Automate workflows and remediation using PowerShell scripting to reduce manual effort.
    • Evaluate and select hardware and software based on supportability, ecosystem maturity, scalability, and lifecycle cost.
    • Proactively monitor systems, analyse failures, and implement preventive and reliability improvements.
    • Continuously refine IT processes and practices to remove friction and improve user productivity.

Team Structure:

The Operations team at CynLr functions as a cross-functional enablement layer that supports Engineering, Product, and Business teams in executing reliably and at scale. Within this structure, Technology and Systems responsibilities are owned as a core operational capability, ensuring that digital infrastructure, tools, and access evolve in step with how the organization works.

Systems and IT operations are designed to be deeply integrated into day-to-day execution, preserving context across teams and workflows. The function works closely with Engineering to support research and development needs, and with Operations and Finance to ensure reliability, security, and long-term sustainability.

What You’ll Need to Do This Well

  • Strong understanding of computer hardware and workstations: CPU, memory, storage, BIOS/firmware and how configuration choices impact developer productivity and system reliability.
  • Deep familiarity with office productivity and collaboration systems, and the ability to design workflows that reduce friction and context switching rather than add process overhead.
  • Solid grounding in networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, firewalls) relevant to office, lab, and inter-office environments.
  • Clear understanding of device configuration, identity management, and user access policies, balancing usability with security.
  • Working knowledge of security principles, data protection, and basic database concepts, sufficient to design safe and scalable internal systems.

Experience That Will Accelerate You

  • Hands-on experience with DevOps or internal tooling infrastructure, especially in environments where tooling is still evolving.
  • Experience setting up and maintaining databases or data services used internally by teams.
  • Exposure to building IT systems in fast-moving, resource-constrained environments where requirements change frequently.
  • Experience supporting engineering-heavy teams, including compute-intensive workflows, development environments, and high-performance workstations

What will you do?

You will design and operate the digital infrastructure that enables CynLr’s teams to work without friction. Your role is to ensure that systems, tools, and access models support how people actually work across research, engineering, operations, and business functions.

You will translate organizational needs into reliable, secure, and intuitive IT systems, spanning devices, networks, collaboration tools, identity, and internal workflows. From onboarding a new team member to supporting compute-heavy engineering setups, your work ensures that infrastructure never becomes the bottleneck to progress.

You will proactively identify inefficiencies, hidden delays, and context-switching costs in everyday workflows, and redesign systems to remove them so that teams can focus on solving hard problems, not fighting tools.

How will you do it?

The role demands a systems-first, entrepreneurial approach, suited to a deep-tech environment where requirements evolve rapidly and standard enterprise playbooks often fall short.

You will build strong context by working closely with teams, understanding how infrastructure decisions affect productivity, security, and reliability. You will question existing practices when they add friction, and design modular, scalable solutions that can adapt as CynLr grows.

You will have the autonomy to rethink how systems are designed, deployed, and operated, with outcomes reviewed through the lens of execution quality, reliability, usability, and long-term sustainability. Success in this role comes from balancing hands-on execution with thoughtful design solving today’s problems while building infrastructure that remains robust tomorrow.
