Overview

The Azure Sr. Data Engineer at Cyclotron, Inc. is a fully remote, full-time role for experienced professionals. You will architect, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines, data lakes, warehouses, and analytics platforms within the Microsoft ecosystem. Collaborate directly with clients to drive data modernization and advanced analytics projects while mentoring teams and ensuring best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and deploy scalable data solutions using Azure Synapse, Databricks, Fabric, and Data Factory.
  • Design and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines with Python, PySpark, and SQL.
  • Build data architectures including lakes, warehouses, lakehouses, and streaming platforms.
  • Implement and automate data ingestion, transformation, modeling, and validation.
  • Lead Power BI or Fabric analytics projects including semantic modeling, DAX, and visualization.
  • Advise on data modernization, governance, and security within Microsoft cloud frameworks.
  • Collaborate with clients to translate business requirements into technical architectures.
  • Mentor peers and guide teams on technical standards and best practices.
  • Prepare high-quality project and technical documentation and support pre-sales activities.

Placement Criteria & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (Master’s preferred). 5+ years of experience in designing, building, and deploying data solutions using Microsoft Azure and Databricks. Strong expertise in Python, SQL, and PySpark along with modern ETL practices is required.

Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Fabric, Azure SQL/Dataverse, and Power BI. Familiarity with data modeling, pipeline optimization, and performance tuning is essential. An understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks within the Microsoft cloud is also expected.
