What To Expect as an Accounts Payable Clerk
As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and process bills from purchase orders and other approved bills.
- Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
- Charge expenses to accounts, cost centers, and locations by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
- Pay vendors by monitoring discount opportunities and resolving discrepancies.
- Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years' experience in general ledger.
- 2-3 years' experience with MS Excel and Word.
- 3 years' experience with QuickBooks and/or NetSuite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Accounting/Business Degree.
