Job Description

About CVS Health

We’re building a world of health around every individual — shaping a more connected, convenient and compassionate health experience. At CVS Health®, you’ll be surrounded by passionate colleagues who care deeply, innovate with purpose, hold ourselves accountable and prioritize safety and quality in everything we do. Join us and be part of something bigger – helping to simplify health care one person, one family and one community at a time.

Role Overview: Senior Content Designer

As a Senior Content Designer, you like being at the intersection of content and design. You understand that content that's well designed is easy to follow and understandable. As a champion for our users, you organize and present content in a meaningful way.

You will draw upon your knowledge of content, design and UX best practices, brand guidelines, accessibility standards and competitive research to simplify the user experience. You will collaborate with designers, researchers, product managers, engineering and other stakeholders with occasional direct support from your manager. You may also be called upon to mentor junior colleagues. When you have to show your work, you’ll love the chance to participate and run workshops and design crits.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in UX writing, UX Design or Content Design
  • 2+ years experience with Agile and lean UX/software development practices, including using product management software (Rally, Jira)

  • 2+ years experience in UX wireframing, UX flows, and shaping content for multi-disciplinary projects with prototyping software such as Figma and Miro

  • Experience with translation and transcreation best practices
  • Deep knowledge of enterprise content management systems such as Adobe Experience Manager, Contentful, or similar
  • Portfolio should include work on digital products and/or services, service design or human centered designs

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor or master's degree preferred in Human Computer Interaction, Information Architecture, Technical Writing, English, or Journalism. Extensive work experience, academic work or certifications in user experience fields are also welcome.
  • Extensive experience with design software (Figma, Airtable, InVision, Miro)
  • Experience collaborating across disciplines (design, design ops, research and usability, accessibility, product managers and engineering)
  • Experience in working with and improving business requirements
  • Comfortable with UX and Usability terminology, taxonomies and practices, including Design Thinking and Human-Centered Design methods, to solve problems and innovate
  • Knows how and when to use inventories and audits, content frameworks, competitive analysis and mapping

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate complex concepts and processes into compelling, easy-to-follow design with exceptional content.
  • Conduct UX research and champion data science to understand user behaviors and uncover new opportunities to reach customers with appropriate content and reduce friction.
  • Create content and design ecosystems for multiple channels, devices and touch points across user journey flows, meeting user needs and adhering to enterprise standards.

  • Lead other content strategists/designers in developing user stories and providing guidance on priorities.
  • Facilitate workshops and design crits and own content reviews and iterations across stakeholders from product to legal.
