About the Role
Join CSG as a Senior Platform Engineer and report to the Senior Manager Software Development. You will be instrumental in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Ascendon solutions, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability. This role involves proactive monitoring, bug fixing, and automating platform engineering processes. You'll also participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and perform scheduled off-hour maintenance.
What You Will Be Doing
- Ascendon Product installation and configuration with occasional troubleshooting assistance.
- Monitoring Ascendon solutions for function and performance, suggesting proactive remediation measures.
- Troubleshooting and bug-fixing Ascendon solutions.
- Automating and documenting Platform Engineer processes.
- Participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
- Collaborating with colleagues in architecture and development groups.
- Installing, configuring, and upgrading third-party products and open-source solutions.
- Performing bi-weekly off-hour maintenance activities within the required maintenance window.
What You Should Have
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with development and release processes.
- AWS or equivalent public cloud experience.
- Experience in Python.
- Experience configuring, managing, and upgrading servers and software.
- Experience with database applications (MS SQL, MySQL) and Web Services (REST, SOAP).
- Experience with version control, continuous integration and delivery tools (Subversion, Git, Jenkins, Artifactory or related services like Azure DevOps, Salt, AWS CodeCommit/Build/Pipelines, BitBucket or GitLab).
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Passion for continuous learning and eagerness to leverage AI tools to drive innovation and efficiency.
