AWS Platform Architect

CSG Forte is seeking an experienced AWS Platform Architect to join our AWS Cloud-based IT Department. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure. This role includes site reliability, monitoring, cost optimization, operational excellence, and performance design responsibilities. The AWS Platform Architect will work closely with cross-functional teams to review and propose design solutions that align with business needs and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud Infrastructure Design: Design and implement a scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Site Reliability: Ensure the reliability and availability of cloud services through effective monitoring, alerting, and incident management.
• Performance Design: Optimize cloud infrastructure performance to meet business requirements and ensure a seamless user experience.
• Cost Optimization: Implement cost-effective solutions and strategies to optimize cloud infrastructure expenses.
• Operational Excellence: Promote and implement best practices for operational excellence, including automation, continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and network engineers, to review and propose design solutions that align with business needs and best practices.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud infrastructure designs, configurations, and best practices.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in cloud architecture and infrastructure, with at least 3 years of experience specifically in AWS.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and CloudFormation. Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and site reliability engineering (SRE) principles.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or equivalent certification is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Terraform).
• Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash).
