Technical AI Product Manager

About The Role

CoinMarketCap is seeking a Technical AI Product Manager to join our AI team. This is an individual contributor role within the Product organization, focused on building and iterating AI products that help users discover, understand, and act on crypto information more effectively. You will identify user pain points, prototype solutions in Python, engage in prompt and context engineering, and continuously improve AI features based on usage and feedback. Once an MVP is validated, you'll collaborate with Engineering to scale it to production.

Your primary responsibility is to produce strong prototypes and provide clear, validated directions to the Engineering team, rather than owning long-term platform scalability or the full engineering surface area.

What you’ll do

• Identify critical user pain points where crypto AI can significantly improve outcomes.
• Translate ambiguous ideas into clear MVPs with defined scope, constraints, and success metrics.
• Prototype complete AI experiences using Python to validate value and quality before production deployment.
• Manage prompts and context engineering, including instruction design, context shaping, guardrails, tool/function calling patterns, and output formatting.
• Develop practical evaluation loops: create golden sets, define scenario coverage, establish qualitative rubrics, conduct regressions, and set acceptance criteria.
• Design intuitive AI user experiences that are clear, trustworthy, and resilient to potential issues.
• Execute rapid experiments, analyze real outputs and usage data, and iterate quickly on features.
• Partner with Engineering for successful product launches by providing handoff specifications, addressing edge cases, sharing evaluation results, and supporting post-launch debugging and iteration.
• Prioritize and work on tasks that provide the highest leverage for the team and product.

What we’re looking for

• Strong product judgment and the ability to make sound decisions in ambiguous situations.
• Hands-on Python prototyping capability: ability to move fast, write clean code, and translate concepts into working prototypes.
• Practical LLM experience and intuition: understanding of prompt iteration, context design, and a strong sense for building useful LLM-powered products.
• A robust evaluation mindset: capability to define quality, test for failure modes, and prevent regressions efficiently.
• High-agency execution: ability to navigate from a vague problem to a shipped learning with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills: effectively convey complex messages clearly and simply, and drive conviction among stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience shipping user-facing AI features (e.g., chat, agents, copilots, summarization, search/Q&A, personalization).
• 0 to 1 experience in fast-moving environments, owning ambiguous problems end-to-end.
• Experience building tool-using and agent-like workflows.
• Experience and interest in cryptocurrency.
