DoD SkillBridge / Career Skills Program (CSP) Internship

This GenAI Engineering Intern position is specifically for DoD SkillBridge participation and is not eligible for direct hire. CrowdStrike's DoD SkillBridge / Career Skills Program (CSP) Internship is an approved SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29, as enacted by 10 U.S.C. Sec 1143.

Eligibility is restricted to members of the U.S. Armed Forces separating honorably with greater than 180 days of continuous Active Duty. The SkillBridge/CSP period of eligibility is within the final 180 days of Active-Duty service, and the SkillBridge/CSP must be completed prior to separation from Active Duty. This internship is open to members of all services, ranks, and experience levels, provided they meet the position's requirements and qualifications.

SkillBridge participants engage in full-time industry training (40-hour work week) under permissive temporary duty military orders. They are not eligible for compensation from CrowdStrike during SkillBridge participation but will continue to receive all military wages and benefits as defined by the Department of Defense. DoD SkillBridge/CSP is fully compliant with all pertinent Federal and State labor laws.

About The Role: GenAI Engineering Intern

The Counter Adversary Operations (CAO) team, CrowdStrike's preeminent cyber threat intelligence wing, is seeking an entrepreneurial full stack developer intern. This 12-week internship will support CAO's AI Strategy manager in developing proof-of-concepts for new GenAI solutions to enhance various internal and customer threat intelligence workflows.

The AI Strategy (AIS) initiative aims to leverage GenAI's rapidly growing capabilities to resolve pain points and deliver valuable outcomes for CrowdStrike's employees and customers. The goal is to develop solutions "from 0 to 1" before transitioning them to product engineering teams for productization. The intern will engage in a series of related assignments, including researching use cases, collaborating with subject matter experts to identify pain points, developing specific proof-of-concept tools, and supporting productization with product engineers. This provides a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with seasoned engineers and subject matter experts under the supervision of CAO's AI Strategy manager.

We are ideally looking for a seasoned developer with prior experience in developing tools for subject matter experts.

What You'll Do

• Develop proof-of-concept GenAI solutions to automate internal workflows.
• Collaborate directly with internal stakeholders, including subject matter experts, engineers, and data scientists.
• Communicate technical capabilities and solutions to subject matter experts, explaining how they support specific workflows.
• Report directly to the AI Strategy manager on project progress and research findings.

What You'll Need

• University degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field; alternatively, extensive hands-on experience in the field.
• Knowledge of programming and scripting languages, with a particular emphasis on Python.
• Ability to accurately express complex technical and non-technical concepts in written, verbal, and graphical formats.
• Strong problem-solving skills are essential.
• A demonstrated ability to be a team player.

Bonus Points

• Experience building cybersecurity solutions, including cyber threat intelligence tools.
• A background in intelligence or cybersecurity.
