About the role
Virtual School Director at Crossover for GT School
GT School is revolutionizing education for Gifted & Talented students (K-8) with an AI-enhanced curriculum and rigorous mentorship. We are expanding our virtual offering to ensure families everywhere can access GT-caliber acceleration. This role is responsible for creating a virtual school environment that is demanding, credible, and demonstrably exceptional.
You will control the entire operational framework of the virtual program, encompassing student journey architecture, advisor accountability systems, targeted cohort support, and family confidence. You will conduct performance reviews, execute rapid course corrections, engage directly in live sessions when required, and establish the infrastructure that makes 3x learning gains sustainable. This is an operational leadership role for someone who values measurable impact. Success will be defined by retention rates, learning acceleration, parent satisfaction, and tangible student achievements. If you seek ownership, operational complexity, and direct accountability, this is the opportunity.
What You Will Be Doing
- Architecting and iterating the complete virtual student journey to maximize acceleration, healthy competition, and community connection.
- Analyzing student outcomes, advisor effectiveness, and family feedback on a weekly basis to surface root issues and execute rapid corrections.
- Managing accountability for the 3x learning framework, spotting XP deficits and creating systems that sustain student momentum.
- Collaborating with advisors to deliver cohort-specific interventions and proactive family outreach before challenges compound.
- Developing advisor recruitment, calibration, and development pathways using performance data, session reviews, and operational dashboards.
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Managing a static curriculum with rigid schedules and delayed decision-making.
- Functioning in a reactive oversight capacity while waiting for others to surface problems.
- Prioritizing enrollment or attendance metrics over documented academic growth.
- Generating reports that do not result in tangible shifts in student outcomes or team performance.
Virtual School Director Key Responsibilities
Establish and manage a repeatable virtual school operation that reliably produces 3x learning outcomes, builds family trust, and sustains enrollment through transparent, recognized student achievement.

- Track record leading distributed teams with defined expectations, clear accountability, and consistent execution.
- Effective parent engagement skills with proven ability to communicate proactively and build lasting trust.

- Experience creating motivational systems such as student competitions, performance leaderboards, or engagement rituals that sustain effort over time.
