Technical Team Lead, LearnWith.AI
We are seeking Technical Team Leads to own delivery and quality for our application-tier products. You will manage a compact team of 3-5 engineers who create educational applications serving thousands of students.
Potential Products Include
- Athena: AI-powered video and assessment generation producing quantifiable learning gains
- TeachTap: AI that recreates historical personalities in a TikTok-inspired educational format
- TeachTales: Customized storytelling experiences designed to enhance reading comprehension
- TrashCat: Game-based educational platform that transforms learning into an engaging activity
This position splits evenly between execution and leadership: you will spend 50% implementing sophisticated features yourself and 50% developing your team's capabilities. You define quality expectations, create technical patterns, conduct code reviews that focus on learning, and support engineer development. Team results fall under your accountability, extending beyond individual contributions.
Expect high autonomy with a lean team structure and minimal administrative overhead. Technical leadership is your domain; people management belongs elsewhere.
What You Will Be Doing
- Implementing sophisticated features that establish architectural direction for the team
- Conducting pull request reviews with comprehensive, educational commentary
- Developing engineers through pair programming and constructive feedback
- Organizing technical initiatives and decomposing feature requirements
- Defining quality benchmarks and ensuring consistent team adherence

- Handling people operations (recruitment, termination, evaluations, career development discussions)
- Contributing to infrastructure or platform-layer systems
- Attending prolonged or excessive meetings
- Designing systems without hands-on coding involvement
Basic Requirements
- At least 5 years of full-stack development experience
- At least 2 years in a lead role (reviewing others' work, mentoring engineers, establishing team practices)
- Track record of shipping SaaS products
- Experience with AI tools in development workflow
- Demonstrated ability to help other engineers improve and grow
