About the Staff Software Architect, LearnWith.AI Role

We are seeking Platform Architects to establish the foundational systems on which other teams depend. In this role, you will focus on platform-level products where your architectural patterns, API design choices, and technical documentation determine how multiple development teams operate.

This role emphasizes design: 50% producing specs, API contracts, and technical decisions; 30% building complex platform features; 20% guiding and reviewing others. You hold technical authority over architectural choices. Once aligned with the team, your specifications become binding.

Small team of capable peers, substantial ownership, zero bureaucracy. You design it, you implement it, you own it.

• Incept: Content generation platform producing personalized educational content for various learning applications
• Crossover: AI-powered hiring platform handling tens of thousands of applicants monthly

What You Will Be Doing

• Producing specifications prior to implementation
• Crafting APIs that support backward compatibility and future extensibility
• Recording Important Technical Decisions (ITDs) with supporting rationale
• Implementing complex platform capabilities
• Conducting PR reviews to ensure architectural alignment

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Extensive team leadership or personnel management
• Development of straightforward app-level products
• Attending endless meetings
• Pure architectural work without hands-on implementation

Basic Requirements

To succeed as a Staff Software Architect, LearnWith.AI, you should meet the following qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience
• At least 2 years designing systems where other teams relied on your APIs or architectural decisions
• Demonstrated history of authoring technical specs or technical decisions implemented by others
• Experience integrating AI tools into development workflow

Working with Crossover

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
