What You Will Be Doing

• Designing and refining an AI-powered learning ecosystem that demonstrably surpasses conventional education, validated by concrete improvements in student performance metrics
• Interacting directly with students via virtual channels to gain insight into their learning journeys, obstacles, and achievements, applying these findings to drive ongoing optimization of the learning ecosystem
• Extracting actionable intelligence from learning platform data and developing high-impact academic strategies that utilize AI/ML, learning science, and proven motivational techniques
• Fostering a culture of fearless experimentation and data-informed decision-making, using analytics to generate breakthrough improvements in students' learning progressions
• Collaborating with platform engineering, data science, and design teams to convert academic insights and student input into intuitive product improvements

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Wrapping traditional education in AI technology. This is not about digitizing classroom teaching – we are reimagining learning entirely from first principles.
• Working with data in a vacuum. You will be required to engage regularly with K-12 students, treating their input as critical feedback from our paying customers.
• Waiting for approval to innovate boldly. You will advance a visionary agenda and inspire others through data-backed outcomes.
• Relying on established practices. You will have the freedom to test novel strategies for motivation, assessment, and pedagogy.
• Viewing AI as a challenge to education. In this role, you will embrace AI as a powerful instrument to transform learning, not as a risk to be managed.

Instructional Designer Key Responsibilities

• Lead innovation in AI-driven, teacher-less education to achieve outstanding student results across multiple campuses.
• Combine data-driven analysis with consistent student interaction to continually refine our learning ecosystem, with success measured by AP exam scores and MAP assessment growth.

Basic Requirements

• Master's degree or higher in Educational Science, Learning Science, Psychology, Psychometrics, Instructional Design, or a related field
• Leadership experience in education or EdTech
• Experience applying AI technologies in an educational or professional context
• Experience designing and implementing AI systems for tasks such as content generation, data analysis, or adaptive learning
• Strong understanding of learning science principles and data-driven educational approaches
• Proven ability to communicate complex educational and technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
