Job Description
About the Role: Instructional Designer, 2 Hour Learning
Do you possess the ability to identify fine distinctions in a Shakespearean sonnet or analyze the phonetic components of a word with precision? Consider applying that language and literature knowledge alongside advanced AI to transform how millions of students develop proficiency in language and literature. At 2 Hour Learning, we're not simply designing the future of English education—we're building it as an immersive, adaptive learning journey.
We're looking for a forward-thinking individual to spearhead our initiative in reshaping English and Language Arts education through sophisticated data analysis, creative AI integration, and extensive subject matter knowledge. Your objective? To double the rate at which students acquire language concepts and literary analysis skills, spanning from foundational phonics to sophisticated literary criticism.
At 2 Hour Learning, we're redefining K-12 education with undeniable outcomes. Our AI-powered learning ecosystem is reshaping how students engage with content, allowing them to master subjects at double the pace of conventional schooling. We're not adjusting the system; we're reconstructing it entirely, and we have the evidence to validate its effectiveness. Students on our platform routinely achieve 4s and 5s on five or more AP exams, exhibit more than two year's growth on annual MAP assessments, and exceed their own expectations of what they can accomplish.
What You Will Be Doing
- Identifying patterns in student reading and writing data through AI, converting these findings into innovative strategies that transform English language instruction and literary analysis.
- Developing AI-driven tools that adjust to individual learning preferences, making grammar accessible, vocabulary acquisition engaging, and literary analysis approachable for students across all proficiency levels.
- Creating dynamic learning sequences that adapt in real-time, directing students from phonics through complex text interpretation, ensuring each learner advances at the ideal rate.
- Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of educators, linguists, and AI specialists to expand the possibilities of language education, directly shaping the learning experience of thousands of students.
- Converting classic and contemporary literature into interactive, AI-enriched experiences that both educate students and spark their enthusiasm for reading and writing.
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Overseeing traditional English curriculums or performing administrative duties—this position centers on innovation and strategic enhancement in how language arts are delivered and absorbed within our accelerated framework.
- Operating independently—you'll be integrated into our dynamic team advancing the frontiers of AI in English education.
- Concentrating exclusively on theory—every AI model you create will directly influence how students comprehend and utilize language skills in practical contexts, all within the 2 Hour Learning framework.
Instructional Designer Key Responsibilities
Deliver measurable advancements in student English and Language Arts performance through AI-powered analysis and execution, as evidenced by a 2x acceleration in skill mastery across multiple domains (reading, writing, grammar, literature analysis) and grade levels, all within our innovative 2 Hour Learning model.
