Director of Academics: Transform Learning Science into Action
2 Hour Learning is seeking a visionary Director of Academics to lead and implement a revolutionary AI-driven educational model. This role is for a proven academic leader who can translate learning science into tangible student outcomes and operational excellence. What You Will Do
- Design academic structures that operationalize learning science principles for curriculum, engagement, and application development.
- Conduct academic performance assessments with Heads of Academics to ensure school teams are effective and aligned.
- Analyze data, conduct interviews, and perform observations to evaluate the academic ecosystem and identify solutions for accelerated learning.
- Establish strategic coherence through planning, feedback systems, and progress tracking to maintain focus on learning objectives.
- Represent 2 Hour Learning globally, including presentations and meetings with Ministries of Education, to influence global education systems.

Director of Academics Key Responsibilities
Expand and refine 2 Hour Learning's validated academic model by harmonizing execution across schools, raising leadership expectations, and establishing yourself as the authoritative voice of a movement built on rigorous science and demonstrated impact.
Basic Requirements
- Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field.
- At least 7 years in academic or EdTech leadership roles, managing a team of staff/employees (responsible for hiring, performance monitoring, coaching, and terminations).
- Experience driving learning outcomes for students and upholding student performance standards.
- Experience applying AI or emerging technologies to improve education (e.g., personalized learning, adaptive learning, AI agents).
- Experience managing academic teams of 50+ people (direct execution of curriculum, instruction, or assessment).
- Experience interacting directly with students, teachers, or school leaders in a professional setting.

Working with Us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
