You will operate in the field, driving builds forward. Managing contractor relationships. Holding schedules accountable. Anticipating sequencing conflicts before they cause setbacks. At the same time, you will leverage AI and digital platforms to cut manual overhead, enhance transparency, and increase velocity. This is active project leadership—not observation. You are the person who intervenes when timelines drift and restores momentum.

What You Will Be Doing

• Oversee on-site construction operations, collaborating directly with contractors to confirm work proceeds in proper sequence and according to plan
• Maintain accountability for project schedules, monitoring key milestones, surfacing potential risks proactively, and initiating recovery actions when setbacks arise
• Deploy platforms such as Procore, Asana, or MS Project to organize tasks, centralize documentation, and track progress across multiple live projects
• Facilitate permitting activities by monitoring submission status, addressing reviewer feedback, and aligning stakeholders to advance approvals
• Integrate AI-driven tools to streamline planning, document generation, and decision workflows, minimizing manual tasks and enhancing execution efficiency

Commercial Construction Project Manager Key Responsibilities

Ensure timely delivery of school construction projects through hands-on site coordination, strict schedule enforcement, and continuous improvement of speed and reliability using digital tools and AI.

Basic Requirements

• Hands-on experience in construction delivery (site coordination, contractor oversight, or schedule management) with the ability to articulate a specific project, your role in it, and how you navigated execution obstacles
• Proven ownership or coordination of a project schedule, including building timelines, monitoring key dates, and enforcing commitments, with at least one concrete example of addressing a delay or scope change
• Working proficiency with at least one digital project management platform (e.g., Procore, Asana, MS Project) and the ability to describe its application on a completed project
• Practical understanding of construction trade sequencing and the ability to recount a scenario where sequencing choices influenced project timing
• Functional knowledge of permitting processes (submissions, plan reviews, resubmittals, authority interactions) with hands-on participation in at least one full cycle
• Documented application of AI tools to expedite actual work, including a specific example of the tool, the output it produced, and the validation method used
• Availability and willingness to work on-site at least 3 days per week, with approximately 60% travel throughout the United States according to project demands
• Based in the United States and authorized for employment without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Background managing multiple simultaneous construction initiatives
• Familiarity with fast-moving or high-growth construction settings where schedules are heavily accelerated

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $50 USD/hour, which equates to $100,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
