What You Will Be Doing as an Academic Guide, gt.school
- Create and facilitate advanced learning sessions – Develop workshops (mathematics, science, philosophy, creative writing) and conduct 1-on-1 mentorship with 15-20 gifted students advancing at 5-10x typical pace
- Identify and resolve learning barriers – Adjust methods dynamically to support students who have surpassed traditional educational settings and help them discover their intellectual strengths
- Apply AI for customization
- Coordinate and refine – Improve workshop frameworks alongside colleagues and measure effectiveness using qualitative insights and quantitative data
Basic Requirements
Academic Guide key responsibilities require:
- Prestigious educational background – Bachelor's degree from an Ivy League institution or equivalent university
- Demonstrated academic achievement – National Merit Finalist, Olympiad medalist, early college graduation, or comparable distinction
- Exceptional academic credential – Prestigious scholarship (Rhodes, Fulbright, NSF GRFP), Mensa/Triple Nine Society membership, PhD, or university-level teaching experience
- 3 years of mentorship background – Coaching, mentoring, or teaching students in any setting
- Regular AI tool use – Self-reported daily engagement with generative AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.)
- Geographic requirement – Willingness to relocate to or work on-site in Austin (Georgetown), TX
- Employment eligibility – Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $75 USD/hour, which equates to $150,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
