About the role
Part-Time Event Specialist
The Event Specialist is responsible for completing in-store food and non-food demonstrations. You will acquire and maintain knowledge of products represented, serve, demonstrate, intercept consumers, and sell products in a professional manner. This role also includes managing the execution equipment for events.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain event equipment and supplies, ensuring they are clean and secured.
- Act as the point person for events when the Supervisor is absent, communicating with store management about upcoming and past events.
- Assist other Event Specialists with event kits, materials, and tools.
- Provide leadership and knowledge to the team, assisting the Supervisor.
- Gain adequate knowledge of products represented and proactively engage consumers to sell products.
- Assist in all job responsibilities assigned to the demo program, effectively communicating product features and benefits.
- Prepare and serve food samples (including raw meats, produce, and eggs) while complying with food safety guidelines.
- Prepare and serve food samples using small appliances and maintain a clean, sterile, and safe workstation.
- Properly set up and prepare the Event Table for execution and complete all assigned work.
- Assist with preparation for client visits and complete audit corrections.
- Build and maintain rapport with store personnel to meet company and client objectives.
- Complete expense reports and submit all online requirements on the same day as event execution.
- Take digital photos of successful table setups to document success stories for clients.
This role is not expected to exceed 25 hours per week. The company reserves the discretion to change the role based on business or client needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient ability to use and navigate on a personal computer and mobile device.
- Food Safety Professional Certification, Local Food handlers permit if required.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, talk, hear, and have visual ability.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb (including a 6’ ladder), and balance.
- Lift and carry up to 25 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds).
- Push and pull a wheeled demonstration cart fully laden.
- Prepare foods using raw products and cooking utensils, and be in contact with cleaning supplies.

- Retail store environment with limited travel.
