About the Role

The ML Engineering Intern position at ML Engineering Intern is a remote, project-based role with flexible scheduling at Crossing Hurdles. You will be responsible for building and maintaining GitHub-based project infrastructure, setting up containerized environments, developing CLI and API-integrated coding tools, supporting reinforcement learning and large language model research experiments, managing data collection and analysis, and collaborating asynchronously with research teams.

Role Responsibilities

• Build and maintain GitHub project infrastructure including CI/CD workflows.
• Set up and manage containerized environments using Docker.
• Develop and integrate coding tools for CLI and API interactions.
• Support reinforcement learning and LLM research experiments and prototype development.
• Handle data collection, preprocessing, and analytics for ML projects.
• Collaborate asynchronously with research teams in a startup-like environment.
• Document workflows, experimental results, and infrastructure clearly.

Ideal Qualifications

• Background in machine learning or relevant coursework.
• Experience with LLM or RL projects, demonstrated via GitHub repositories.
• Proficiency with Docker, CLI tooling, and GitHub project management.
• Experience in building integrations and managing data pipelines.
• Ability to balance engineering tasks with research activities.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Prior research lab or team project experience is a plus.
