Crossing Hurdles is a recruitment firm referring top candidates to world-leading AI research labs. This role is a contract position for Mathematics PhD students, post-docs, and recent graduates to help develop and evaluate graduate-level mathematical challenges for a frontier AI reasoning project.
Role Overview
Mercor is partnering with an AI research lab to push the boundaries of AI reasoning. In this role, you will design original advanced mathematics problems, evaluate AI-generated solutions, identify logical flaws, and provide structured feedback with high precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Design original, advanced mathematics problems across pure and applied domains.
- Evaluate AI-generated solutions for correctness, clarity, and rigor.
- Identify logical flaws, incomplete reasoning, or weak proofs in responses.
- Provide structured feedback and corrected solutions.
- Maintain strict standards of mathematical rigor and problem difficulty.
Required Qualifications
- Current PhD student, post-doc, or recent PhD graduate (within 5 years) in mathematics.
- Expertise in algebra, geometry, combinatorics, number theory, analysis, probability, or related fields.
- Strong ability to articulate complex reasoning in written form.
- Rigorous attention to detail and independent work style.
