About Environmental Health Safety Specialist
Crossing Hurdles is a recruitment firm referring top candidates to our partners working with the world’s leading AI research labs. The position is an hourly contract role focused on operational EH&S and safety duties in a remote environment.
Role Responsibilities
- Annotate AI outputs against safety criteria such as bias, misinformation, disallowed content, and unsafe reasoning.
- Apply operational safety principles from EH&S background to AI systems and data evaluation.
- Follow harm taxonomies and safety guidelines consistently even in ambiguous tasks.
- Document reasoning and provide feedback to improve guidelines and taxonomies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide high-quality human data for AI safety research and model improvements.
- Optionally participate in higher-sensitivity projects ensuring adherence to guidelines and wellness resources.
Requirements
- Background in lab safety, biosafety, or environmental health and safety (EH&S).
- Experience in compliance management, hazard training, or incident investigations.
- Knowledge of safety protocols, accident prevention, and incident documentation.
- Ability to adapt operational safety methods to AI systems and data evaluation.
- Proven ability to work remotely and adapt to evolving workflows.
