About the Role

The MySQL and Postgres Database Administration role at Crisil requires an experienced DBA to manage, maintain, and optimize MySQL and Postgres databases. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in database design, development, and performance tuning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Database Administration: Install, configure and maintain databases on Linux, RDS, and GCP.
  • Performance Tuning: Monitor, optimize configuration, indexing, and queries.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Resolve database issues and support development teams.
  • Capacity Planning: Monitor growth, plan capacity upgrades, and implement scaling techniques.

Requirements

Technical Skills: 1+ years DBA experience with MySQL and Postgres, strong knowledge of database design, installation, configuration, performance tuning, Linux systems, and scripting (Bash, Python). Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana) is a plus.

Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication and collaboration skills in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Technical Skills: Experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL), containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes) and programming languages (Java, Python, Ruby).
