About the role
Lead Analyst Private Equity
Crisil is seeking a Lead Analyst for its Private Equity team to manage deal execution, portfolio management, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deal Execution (Pre-Investment)
- Build and maintain complex financial models to evaluate investment opportunities, including IRR and MOIC analysis under multiple scenarios.
- Analyze deal structures and assess various exit strategies.
- Develop detailed, sanitized financial models based on management inputs and independent diligence.
- Conduct in-depth due diligence, including financial, commercial, and operational analysis of target companies.
- Prepare Investment Committee (IC) materials, articulating investment thesis, key risks, and return expectations.
- Perform industry research covering market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory developments.
- Support deal structuring, including preparation and review of term sheets, shareholder agreements, and key commercial agreements.
2. Portfolio Management (Post-Investment)
- Monitor portfolio company performance through robust MIS frameworks and KPI tracking.
- Work closely with portfolio company management to drive operational improvements and strategic initiatives.
- Develop and implement value creation strategies to enhance business performance and growth.
- Support preparation and execution of 100-day plans post investment.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements across portfolio companies.
- Conduct periodic portfolio reviews and prepare performance update decks for IC and board meetings.
- Travel for periodic company visits, participate in board discussions, and maintain ongoing engagement with portfolio company leadership.
3. Stakeholder Management & Strategic Support
- Engage with internal stakeholders, senior management, and external advisors across the deal lifecycle.
- Support fundraising and investor reporting activities, as required.
- Assist in exit planning, including preparation of marketing materials and interaction with potential buyers.
