About the role
Sr Information Systems Engineer, IT Engineering
Join the company that’s building the telemetry infrastructure for the AI era. At Cribl, we partner with IT and Security teams at many of the world’s biggest enterprises, including half of the Fortune 100, to bridge the gap between AI ambition and infrastructure reality. As the AI Platform for Telemetry, we give customers the choice, control, and flexibility to manage and analyze telemetry for both humans and agents, so they can build what’s next.
We’re one of the fastest‑growing private companies and a leading player in a massive, fast‑moving market. With a global workforce, we’re remote‑first and grounded in a simple idea: software is a people business. Cribl is the place where curious, collaborative people can do their best work, grow fast, and bring their full selves to the herd.
Why You’ll Love This Role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Sr Information Systems Engineer to join Cribl's IT Engineering team. In this role, you will be the technical owner of the core systems that power how Cribl operates every day — from identity and access to endpoints, cloud infrastructure, and the automations that tie it all together. This is a high-impact, high-ownership role on a team that treats reliability, security, and employee experience as equally important outcomes.
You'll partner closely with Security, Enterprise Applications, and People teams to design and run the services Cribl depends on at scale: Okta, AWS, ServiceNow, MDM, and a growing stack of SaaS integrations and AI-powered workflows. Whether you're building joiner/mover/leaver automations, hardening endpoint baselines, or governing the next generation of MCP-connected AI tools, your work will be foundational to how a fast-moving, remote-first company stays secure and operational.
This role reports to IT Engineering leadership and will serve as a senior peer and escalation point across the IT & Security organization.
As An Active Member Of Our Team, You Will…
- AWS, Cloud & Core Infrastructure: Administer AWS accounts used for corporate IT, VPN, and supporting infrastructure, including secure networking patterns, logging, monitoring, and alerting across IT-owned cloud resources.
- Endpoint Management & MDM: Own endpoint management for macOS and Windows via MDM (e.g., Jamf, Intune), including zero-touch provisioning, patch management, security baselines, and compliance reporting for the fleet.
- ServiceNow & IT Service Management: Serve as primary ServiceNow administrator for IT & Security — core data model, catalog, workflows, SLAs, and integrations — and partner with Security, Finance, and Compliance to support ITGC, SOX/IT controls, access reviews, and change management.
- Automation, Integrations & Tooling: Design and maintain automation workflows across IT systems (e.g., Okta Workflows, Serval, Zapier, PowerShell/Python, APIs) and serve as SME for SaaS integrations across Okta, ServiceNow, Google Workspace, Slack, and Azure/AWS.
- AI Tools & MCP Governance: Evaluate, configure, and govern AI tools and MCP-based agent frameworks in partnership with IT and Security, ensuring safe usage patterns, appropriate access controls, and clear documentation and runbooks.
- Operations, Support & On-Call: Serve as Tier 3 escalation for complex incidents across identity, MDM, ServiceNow, and core platforms; participate in the IT on-call rotation; and contribute to IT metrics, fleet reporting, and knowledge base content.
We are a remote-first company and work happens across many time-zones – you may be required to occasionally perform duties outside your standard working hours (if on call is not required).
If You’ve Got It - We Want It
- Corporate IT Systems Experience: 5+ years in corporate IT roles with significant responsibility for systems administration across identity, SaaS, and/or infrastructure in a cloud-first environment, with a proven track record balancing project work and operational/on-call responsibilities.
- AWS Administration (Required): Hands-on, production experience with AWS (IAM, VPCs, EC2/ECS or similar, basic networking, tagging/governance) supporting internal IT or SaaS platforms.
- ServiceNow Administration: Hands-on administration of ServiceNow or a similar enterprise ITSM platform, including workflow configuration, catalog items, change/incident processes, and basic reporting.
- Enterprise Identity Provider Experience: Direct, production experience with at least one enterprise identity provider — Okta strongly preferred; Azure AD/Entra ID or similar acceptable — including SSO, lifecycle management, and access policies.
- Endpoint Management Ownership: Demonstrated ownership of macOS and/or Windows endpoint management in a mid-to-large fleet, including baseline configs, software distribution, and patch management.
- Scripting & Automation: Experience with at least one scripting language (Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar) and comfort working with REST APIs and JSON.
- Remote-First Operator: Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-moving, distributed environment — you manage your own priorities, communicate proactively, and know when to escalate.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Jamf (macOS), Intune (Windows/mobile), and/or device posture tooling such as Kolide or similar.
- Experience managing core SaaS tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Atlassian, or Glean.
- Background designing or maintaining automations with tools like Serval, Zapier, or equivalent orchestration platforms.
- Experience evaluating, configuring, and governing AI tools and agents (e.g., Claude, Gemini, Glean) and MCP-based agent frameworks in an enterprise environment.
- Working knowledge of Azure (subscriptions, RBAC, group-based access) and/or other major cloud providers alongside AWS.
- Prior experience supporting a rapidly scaling, distributed engineering organization.
