Senior Data Engineer Overview

The Senior Data Engineer at Crescent Energy will build and scale the data platform to support analytics, reporting, and operational insights. This role emphasizes expertise in Snowflake, AWS/Azure cloud technologies, and upstream oil & gas domain knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Architecture & Engineering: Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Snowflake, AWS/Azure, implement ETL/ELT processes, design scalable data models, and enforce data quality and governance standards.
  • Platform Development & Optimization: Build and optimize Snowflake-based data warehouses, design cloud-native data solutions, manage large-scale data processing, and implement robust security measures.
  • Technical Leadership & Innovation: Mentor junior team members, evaluate emerging technologies and best practices, create reusable components, and support AI/ML initiatives.
  • Business Partnership: Translate business requirements into technical solutions, partner with analysts and data scientists, and ensure compliance for regulatory reporting.

Qualifications & Experience

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a technical field, 7+ years in data engineering with at least 3 years on cloud data platforms, strong expertise in Snowflake and AWS/Azure, and experience in upstream oil & gas data environments. Advanced skills in SQL, Python, data modeling, ETL/ELT, and familiarity with orchestration tools, CI/CD practices, and BI platforms are essential.
