About the role
Portfolio Analyst
The Portfolio Analyst position works in the Private Credit team in Los Angeles, CA. The professional in this role will be responsible for a wide variety of portfolio-level reporting and analytics, and will be liaising with all key functions across the Crescent platform including the investment, accounting, compliance and investor relations teams. The analyst will be responsible for recurring reporting deliverables, supporting internal review processes, and contributing to strategic projects and ad hoc portfolio analyses. The role is well-suited for candidates with a strong foundation in finance or accounting who are detail-oriented self-starters eager to gain hands-on experience in private credit portfolio management.
Responsibilities
- Produce ongoing portfolio-level reporting and risk analysis for both internal and external distribution (loan tapes, credit facility reporting, new deal and amendment trackers, pipeline report).
- Assist in the ongoing maintenance of a database of portfolio company and fund level information.
- Work with investment, accounting and IR teams to prepare quarterly board materials, earnings presentations and BDC comp analysis.
- Prepare various compliance reports including co-investment reports, allocation schedules, managerial assistant letters and other related materials.
- Assist in the preparation of prospective investor marketing materials.
- Assist in the quarterly portfolio company level valuation process.
- Perform analysis of portfolio company level financial performance, loan covenants and other credit statistics.
- Participate in a wide variety of special projects and ad-hoc reports.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with a record of strong academic performance; preferred concentration in finance, accounting, business, economics, or related field.
- 1-3 years of finance, accounting, or other directly relevant experience.
- Exceptional quantitative and modeling skills, with ability to conceptualize and learn complex financial data.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to synthesize multiple sources of information.
- Industry knowledge and familiarity with loan terms, capital structures, and credit documentation is strongly preferred.
- Highly motivated self-starter with superb verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and productively in a cross-functional team environment while maintaining a high degree of individual accountability.
- Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; experience with SQL or portfolio analytics tools is beneficial but not required.
