Position Overview

The Junior Screenwriter role on the ReelShort team entails adapting online stories into captivating romantic narratives. This is an ideal position for recent graduates with backgrounds in media studies, screenwriting, film, or related fields who are passionate about writing in the romance and drama genres.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on online content writing industry trends.
  • Adapt and transform plotlines into romance screenplays.
  • Format scripts using industry-standard software.
  • Collaborate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas.
  • Develop and articulate creative story ideas in the romance genre.
  • Adapt popular romance novels into engaging screenplays.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Media Studies, Fine Arts, Creative Writing or related field.
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Must be able to work onsite in Sunnyvale, CA 5 days a week.
  • Strong reading appetite with passion for novels and content creation.
  • Motivated to learn within the content, publishing, or gaming industry.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team collaboration focus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

Benefits

Compensation: $64,680 annually.
