Overview
The Sr Casualty Adjuster at Crawford & Company investigates, reserves, negotiates, evaluates and settles casualty claims with complex exposure including fatalities. Under moderate to light supervision, you will handle claims processing, resolution, legal proceedings, and occasional sales calls.
Responsibilities
- Examine claim forms, policies, endorsements and instructions.
- Investigate claims by interviewing involved parties and reviewing evidence.
- Set loss reserves and prepare required reports.
- Settle claims by evaluating coverages, liabilities and client instructions.
- Control claim costs and recommend litigation when appropriate.
- Present evidence in legal proceedings and maintain production levels.
- Mentor junior adjusters and participate in special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- College degree or equivalent education/experience.
- Minimum 3 years of casualty claims experience (4 years preferred).
- Required state license and completion of Crawford training if no experience.
- Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task and resolve complex claim situations.
- Commitment to maintaining company reputation and compliance standards.
