Job Description
CPP Investments is recruiting interns for the Quantitative Finance Internship for the Winter 2026 term. This four-month internship beginning in January 2026 will allow students to explore opportunities within quantitative finance across several teams.
Participating Teams
- Quantitative Models, Research – Total Fund Management: Design portfolio management platform components, collaborate with quant researchers and portfolio managers, assess modeling impact, and develop analytics and quantitative models.
- Public Credit – Credit Investments: Utilize Python and SQL to enhance analytical tools, improve risk reporting, analyze credit markets, and conduct ad-hoc portfolio analysis.
- Credit Strategy – Credit Investments: Assist in developing portfolio strategy, build monitoring tools, create frameworks for relative value, and integrate market research.
Qualifications
Current undergraduate or graduate student in STEM, business, finance, economics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or related field, graduating August 2026 or later. Strong academic performance. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Programming experience in Python is strongly preferred, with exposure to languages like TypeScript, SQL, C++, Java, R, or VBA considered an asset. An interest in finance, investment management, capital markets, modern portfolio theory, and quantitative techniques is essential.
