Executive Assistant at Coventry Building Society
We’re recruiting for an Executive Assistant to partner with our Customer Service Director and the Customer Service Senior Leadership team, providing them with a high-level, comprehensive and proactive executive support.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Directors and SLTs communications, including planning and orchestrating work, meetings, and events to ensure priorities are met, functional goals are achieved, and best practices are upheld. This role ensures adequate time to prepare for meetings, boards, committees, and key deliverables, as well as collating relevant information and returns on behalf of the function.
The Executive Assistant will proactively manage and control access to the Directors' diary, identifying what is essential whilst maintaining balance across their schedule. It requires a focus on proactive and anticipatory management of the Directors' and SLTs' workload and accountabilities, ensuring key priorities are met and goals are delivered. Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders is a vital part of the role, as well as acting as a communication bridge inside and outside of the function.
This role will support the Senior Leadership Team with the smooth running of the function including organising governance, taking minutes and actions of functional meetings, and managing expenses and travel arrangements.
This position offers a team-led hybrid working arrangement and can operate from either our Head Office campus in Binley, Coventry, or our Manchester office, with occasional travel required between locations.

Essential Experience and Skills:
- Exceptional planning and organising experience, with an emphasis on priority management.
- Experience of managing multiple stakeholders with strong relationship building skills.
- Confident communication skills, with the ability to persuade, influence, and network as required.
- Experience of multitasking and adapting quickly in a challenging and pressured environment.
- Ability to anticipate workloads, events, and issues.
- Proficient in Outlook and a solid understanding and experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
- High level of tact and integrity with the ability to negotiate confidently and professionally at all levels.
- Executive Assistant or equivalent role experience.
Desirable Experience:
- Banking or financial services sector experience.
- Support to Executives.
- Commercial awareness of current and ongoing key issues relating to the wider financial industry.
- Budget management and control experience.
