Overview
Since 1972, Covenant House International has served and advocated for youth and young families facing homelessness, human trafficking, and exploitation. The mission is to end youth homelessness by assisting with housing stability, trauma recovery, resilience building, and skills development.
About The Role
Reporting directly to the Coordinator, Development Operations, you will support the Development department’s receivable and payable functions. Your focus includes managing daily gift entry and expense processing along with occasional administrative support for department leadership.
Accounts Payable Responsibilities
- Monitor and track department expenses
- File and organize department contracts
- Submit invoices, check requests, credit card bills and expense reports
Accounts Receivable Responsibilities
- Collaborate with accounting to record donations in CRM
- Maintain donation trackers to supplement CRM data
- Support pledge reminder and collection processes
- Assist with reconciliation of third-party donations
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and project support for department leadership
- Generate fundraising reports for events, campaigns, and specific donors
- Support collaborative solicitations with partnering sites
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Proficiency in spreadsheet software and pivot tables preferred
- Experience with Microsoft 365 or Google Suite for nonprofit
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with ability to meet multiple deadlines
- Commitment to Covenant House International's mission
Required Qualifications
1-3 years of experience in data entry, invoice/payment processing, and reconciliations.
Preferred Skills
- Nonprofit pledge management experience
- Familiarity with CRM systems and project management software such as EveryAction and Asana
Travel Requirements
This role is 100% remote with the need to travel annually to New York City in January for in-person traditions.
