Position Summary

The Senior Fellow and Director of the Maurice R. Greenberg Center for Geoeconomic Studies leads a major research initiative at CFR, focusing on the dynamic interplay between economic and geopolitical forces. This role involves guiding the center’s projects, such as the Reimagining American Economic Leadership (RealEcon) project, fostering collaborations with senior fellows and various departments, and engaging with policymakers, media, and corporate constituencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead CFR’s major research efforts as a public figure.
  • Create original research on economics, trade, and development.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to disseminate research findings.
  • Engage policymakers, media, and corporate partners with recommendations.
  • Oversee affiliated support staff and secure additional funding.

Qualifications

  • PhD in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Significant record of thought leadership on economic issues.
  • Proven experience in senior-level policy or research leadership.
  • Strong track record in briefing policymakers and media engagements.
  • Experience in management and fundraising is essential.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time position with an annual compensation range of $225,000 – $300,000, complemented by an outstanding benefits package.
