Overview
As a Summer Intern in our Quality Engineering team at Cotiviti, you will gain hands-on experience in developing web-based applications and working through various stages of the software development lifecycle. You will learn under the guidance of experienced mentors, work on real-world projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and expand your technical and analytical skills.
Responsibilities
- Frontend Development: Assist in implementing user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and Typescript in the Angular framework to create responsive web applications.
- Backend Development: Support API backend development using Microsoft technologies (C#, .NET) and help integrate frontend components with backend services.
- Database Development: Write ANSI SQL database queries for both SQL and Oracle relational databases.
- Testing and Debugging: Create thorough unit and integration tests for Angular and .NET, troubleshoot issues, and learn debugging best practices.
- Version Control and Collaboration: Learn to use Git for managing code repositories and incorporating code review feedback.
- Documentation: Help document software design, implementation details, and maintain technical specifications for internal and external stakeholders.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on best practices and web development trends.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of web development concepts and technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/Typescript).
- Knowledge of Single Page Applications with familiarity in Angular preferred.
- Understanding of API backend development (.NET preferred) and SQL programming for relational databases.
- Clear understanding of Object Oriented Programming concepts.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Mental Requirements
Critical thinking, attention to detail, strong quantitative aptitude, data interpretation ability, clear communication skills, and a strong desire to learn while maintaining ethical standards and resilience are essential for success in this role.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
This role requires a stationary work setup with prolonged sitting or standing, repeated hand motions, a dedicated secure work area, and high-speed internet connectivity. No adverse environmental conditions are expected.
Compensation & Work Arrangement
Base compensation ranges from $20-25 per hour with eligibility for overtime. This is a remote role with all interviews conducted virtually.
