Join Cosmo 1:1 (formerly ClassUp), a leading online learning platform connecting K-12 students across the US, Canada, and Asia with top university tutors. We offer personalized 1:1 lessons in math, ELA, and SAT preparation, providing tutors with flexible schedules and pre-designed learning plans.

This role is ideal for experienced educators looking to connect with students in an after-school setting. As a Virtual Teacher, you will conduct weekly 50-minute 1:1 online lessons, fostering a welcoming and fun learning environment. Reliability, punctuality, thorough preparation, and a passionate, kind demeanor are crucial for success in this role.

This is an independent contractor position with a base rate of $20 CAD, plus additional incentives and bonuses.

Virtual Teacher Responsibilities

• Provide personalized 1:1 instruction to K-12 students.
• Maintain up-to-date availability within the Cosmo App.
• Prepare tailored lesson materials suitable for each student's age and ability.
• Submit detailed Class Feedback after every lesson.
• Communicate professionally with both parents and students.
• Attend all scheduled classes on time and from a professional setting.
• Maintain clear communication with Cosmo staff regarding student progress or scheduling.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• 3 years of experience teaching K-12 grades in math, ELA, or SAT prep.
• Demonstrated experience with K-12 ELA/Math standards.
• A teaching license is preferred but not mandatory.
• Access to a fast and reliable internet connection.
• Access to a Windows or Mac PC with a minimum CPU of 6000.
• Commitment to teach with Cosmo 1:1 for a minimum of 6 months.
• Availability of at least 20 hours per week.
• Specific availability required between 6-9 AM EST or 3-10 PM EST, Monday through Friday, or during weekends.
• Access to a private and quiet location for teaching.
• A genuine passion for helping students learn and grow.
• Must be currently located in the United States or Canada.
• (Please note: We are unable to hire teachers residing in Alaska, California, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Puerto Rico, Vermont, West Virginia).
