Production Technician - Corteva Agriscience

Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Production Technician to join our team at the Woodhull, Illinois corn and soybean production facility!

What You Will Do

  • Model Safety as the number one (1) focus and be a Safety Steward of the designated program
  • Perform a variety of tasks associated with general plant, field, and warehouse operations that evolve with each season throughout the year
  • Accurately monitor highly automated equipment for processes such as harvesting, conditioning, treating, and packing
  • Assist with the oversight of receiving, conditioning, packaging, harvest, product return, and precleaning
  • Participate in harvest activities such as preparation, drying, shelling, husk oversight, product unloading, and other relevant processes
  • Product return and sorting activities
  • Actively participate in conditioning activities such as sizing, gravity operation, packaging, palletizing, etc.
  • Field activities such as scouting, inspection, and managing logistics
  • Perform warehouse activities such as forklift operation, collecting samples, pooling, and other duties
  • Various other duties as assigned

Education

You have your High School Diploma/GED OR are willing and able to obtain your GED within twelve (12) months of hire as a condition of employment.

What Skills You Need

  • Willingness and ability to perform physical tasks including climbing, working in elevated areas, standing/sitting for extended periods, working outdoors/indoors in various conditions, lifting up to 50 lbs., and performing repetitive motion and lifting.
  • Comfort with technology and computer aptitude, including Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with a willingness to learn company-specific applications.
  • High diligence, multitasking ability, organized workplace maintenance, and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • A valid US Driver’s License.
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with internal and external customers.
  • Integrity, positive working environment promotion, initiative-taking, and willingness to assist team members.
  • Upholding health and safety to the highest standard, adhering to safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Understanding of timely delivery importance and willingness to work rotating shifts and overtime, including nights and weekends during seasonal peaks.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Two-Year Technical or Associates Degree in Agriculture, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field.
  • One (1) year of education and/or experience in operations, manufacturing, agriculture, or a related industry.
  • Knowledge or experience with LEAN Manufacturing principles (5S, Continuous Improvement, Standardized Work).
  • General knowledge and/or experience with field and/or agriculture equipment (plows, tractors, forklifts, etc.).

  • VISA Sponsorship is NOT available for this position.
  • This position does NOT offer a comprehensive domestic relocation package.

The salary range for this position is $46,215.00 to $51,350.00.

This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base salary for this role. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus. Based on factors such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made.
