About the Role
CORT is seeking a remote, full-time Facilities Engineering & Construction Manager to lead the design, buildout, and ongoing management of facilities. This role is crucial for optimizing warehouse operations, space utilization, and infrastructure to enhance business efficiency. You will manage construction and renovation projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and regulatory requirements. A key aspect of this role involves leveraging new technologies and data analysis to improve labor productivity through facility design and equipment. You will collaborate with internal teams and field staff, manage vendors and contractors, and directly supervise the Facilities Coordinator to drive continuous improvement across all facilities.
Responsibilities
- Review and approve facility design plans, including layout, equipment, racking, utilities, docks, and fire/safety systems.
- Perform and analyze time and motion studies to improve labor productivity through building design and equipment.
- Coordinate permitting, inspections, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Plan, schedule, and oversee construction, renovation, and facility improvement projects.
- Develop budgets, capital expenditure requests, and track project costs against approved estimates.
- Direct and supervise construction projects, including contractors and vendors.
- Lead bidding processes and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective, high-quality project execution.
- Optimize facility layout, equipment utilization, and infrastructure to support operational efficiency.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies or process improvements to enhance facility performance.
- Directly manage the Facilities Coordinator, including setting priorities, assigning work, providing coaching and feedback, ensuring timely completion of facility-related tasks, and supporting professional development.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, Design, Project Management, or related field preferred.
- Experience with facility infrastructure, construction processes, and project execution is required.
- Proven ability to apply industrial engineering principles to analyze warehouse efficiency and optimize facility layout, including maximizing operational space and racking utilization.
- Knowledge of fire sprinkler and racking codes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, CADD, and Adobe.
