About the Role
Corning Incorporated is one of the world’s leading innovators in glass, ceramic, and materials science. As a Materials Engineer, you will support the Crucible Melting, Ceramics and Batching team within Engineering, Materials and Processing at Sullivan Park.
Scope of Role
This role involves planning and executing experiments, analyzing process data, collaborating with internal customers, supporting equipment troubleshooting, and contributing to process documentation and training.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal customers to gather experimental requirements.
- Collect and analyze process data and present conclusions.
- Apply problem-solving techniques to identify root cause and corrective actions.
- Assist in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
- Document processes and train operators and peers.
- Participate in cross-functional process activities and site tours.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Materials, or Ceramic Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Commitment to workplace safety and detail orientation.
- Experience leading process development or improvement projects.
- Skilled in data analysis and process optimization.
- Proficient in MS Office with strong communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Process engineering skills such as KT, SPC, Six Sigma, MEE.
- Experience with material and equipment suppliers and batch sheet calculations.
- Familiarity with Procurement systems and inventory management.
Additional Information
This position is full-time and does not support immigration sponsorship. Salary range is from $65,294 to $89,780, based on various job-related factors. Corning provides a comprehensive compensation and benefits package including pension, 401(k) with matching contributions, health, wellness, and recognition programs.
