Data Center Technician III Role

The Data Center Operations Technician III is responsible for ensuring operational integrity, security, and regulatory compliance of our data center facilities. This role demands strong knowledge in telecommunications, mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of data center facilities and infrastructure.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, fire life safety, and telecommunications tasks.
  • Coordinate customer build-outs, cable terminations, and work orders.
  • Operate and monitor systems using CMMS and respond to abnormal conditions.
  • Complete CoreSite’s Data Center Operations Qualification Program within nine months.

Skills & Qualifications

Candidate must have a firm understanding of industrial systems including chilled water, HVAC, UPS, and telecom cabling. Minimum 2 years of data center experience and proven technical ability is required. Knowledge of NEC, NFPA standards, and industrial safety practices is essential.

Additional Duties

Responsibilities include asset management, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting incidents, and extensive customer service. The role requires working with contractors, recording data, and submitting technical documentation.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The job involves standing, walking, climbing, and occasional heavy lifting, with flexibility for after-hours and on-call support.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is hourly between $46-$53, with eligibility for annual bonus and equity. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement plans, paid time off, and additional perks such as wellness programs, technology stipend, and educational reimbursement.
