Technical Writer, DoD at Core4ce
Core4ce is seeking a Technical Writer to develop and maintain clear, accurate documentation supporting DoD technology initiatives. The role involves translating complex information into user guides, reports, and other materials while ensuring consistency through approved templates and visual elements. Candidates should have strong writing skills, DoD experience, and proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
Responsibilities
- Write, create, and edit documentation by gathering information from various information sources. Documents can be memos, announcements, reports, plans, user guides, meeting minutes, manuals, newsletters, articles, surveys, policies, and procedures.
- Produce graphics, screen captures, graphs, charts, and technical diagrams.
- Format documentation into approved templates to maintain consistency throughout all work product, both for the client and for the project team.
- Participate in reviews with originators and approvers of all technical documentation.
- Conduct research from various sources to gather data for reports and presentations.
- Develop knowledge management content for SharePoint in collaboration with other team members.
- Assesses stakeholder needs for whom the technical and procedural documentation is intended; adjusts tone and technical terms used to meet those needs and to ensure understanding.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- This position is designed to be flexible, with responsibilities evolving to meet business needs and enable individual growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, or Technical Writing preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in technology field
- Minimum of 5 years DoD experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent writing and grammatical skills
- Ability to present complex data in clear and concise text
- Ability to edit and proofread work product from colleagues
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software
- Able to obtain DoD Secret clearance
- Experience with JIRA and SharePoint preferred
