Overview

The Research Scientist at Coopers iET AG is responsible for designing, coordinating, and executing global monitoring programs and analyses to understand the evolution of fungicide resistance in plant-pathogenic fungi.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement global monitoring programs for fungi.
  • Manage logistics for biological sample handling and global sampling campaigns.
  • Conduct bioassays and molecular analyses, including DNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, and sequencing.
  • Maintain and isolate fungal cultures in sterile conditions.
  • Analyze bioassay and sequencing data using software like R, Geneious, and Spotfire.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Degree in Plant Pathology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or related field.
  • Proven laboratory skills, including sterile techniques and PCR assays.
  • Experience in data analysis and bioinformatics for sequencing data.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience in complex sampling logistics.
  • Fluency in English; German language skills are advantageous.
