Job Role: GI Technician
The GI Technician prepares rooms and equipment for endoscopic procedures, cleans and sterilizes after procedures, maintains equipment inventory, ensures proper functioning of instruments, and supports patient care during procedures. Additional tasks include:
- Preparing waiting and recovery rooms or procedure suites.
- Cleaning, disinfecting, and calibrating instruments per guidelines.
- Transporting patients based on medical instructions.
- Assisting physicians and nurses during endoscopic procedures.
- Collecting specimens and collaborating with care providers.
- Attending training and supporting business office duties with EPIC applications and front desk registration.
Locations & Shifts
This role operates across multiple South Jersey locations, including Mt. Laurel, Willingboro, Camden, and Moorestown. Shifts vary, with a typical schedule of three days a week, including Fridays.
Experience & Requirements
- Prior GI tech or patient care experience (e.g., medical assistant, patient care technician).
- Ability to learn IDX and EPIC applications.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- BLS certification; GI certification preferred but not required.
