About The Team

The Growth Team leads the company's efforts to acquire new eaters across various channels. Their mission is to expand audiences, increase traffic and conversion rate while keeping Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) low. The team aims to shake up the Weekly Meal Plans and On-Demand Food Delivery categories and usher in a new era of the chef-centric marketplace.

The Role

As a Staff Backend Engineer, Marketing Tech, you will design and architect scalable platforms to effectively reach customers across various channels. This highly cross-functional role involves partnering closely with marketing, design, product, data, and policy teams. You will ensure seamless integration of the marketing technology stack, driving mobile and desktop customer experiences, and optimizing marketing performance through data-driven insights.

You possess deep expertise in customer data platforms (CDP) like Segment, A/B testing platforms such as StatSig, and a solid understanding of advertising platforms. You will manage and integrate complex MarTech ecosystems, driving efficiency, scalability, and accuracy in marketing campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, implementation, and integration of the marketing technology stack across desktop and mobile environments, ensuring seamless operation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate customer data platforms (CDPs) like Segment, building custom data pipelines and ensuring efficient data collection and utilization.
  • Work closely with marketing and growth teams to support A/B testing strategies using platforms like StatSig, optimizing website and app experiences.
  • Integrate advertising platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Meta, TikTok) with the broader MarTech ecosystem for accurate tracking, reporting, and optimization.
  • Ensure data quality and governance for marketing technology integrations and customer data flows.
  • Support the setup and scaling of personalization strategies through MarTech tools.
  • Provide technical leadership in scoping new MarTech solutions and enhancements, driving best practices.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot system integrations, resolving issues related to data flows, API connections, or platform performance.
  • Design scalable APIs and reliable production systems for a robust MarTech stack.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, continuously evaluating and recommending improvements.

Minimum Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science or other related fields (MS or Ph.D. preferred).
  • 8+ years of industry experience in a fast-paced tech environment.
  • Expertise in customer data platforms (CDPs), particularly Segment or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience collecting and building out pipelines with customer click tracking event streams.
  • Solid understanding of web technologies such as HTTP methods, web sockets, Server Side Events, Web Hooks.
  • Proficiency with A/B testing platforms like StatSig, including setting up and analyzing experiments.
  • Strong understanding of advertising platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Meta, TikTok) and their data and API integrations.
  • Design experience in scalable APIs and building reliable production systems.
  • Experience in both mobile and desktop MarTech environments, including app integrations and data flows.
  • Deep knowledge of API integrations, data mapping, and data management within a marketing tech stack.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle complex technical challenges.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Fluent in English.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience building data pipelines and working with data warehousing technologies such as Snowflake and DBT.
  • Familiarity with personalization tools and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
