The Role

As the Staff AI Engineer, Agent Orchestration, you will lead a high-performing, cross-functional team comprising AI/ML engineers and embedded data engineers. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will drive vision, strategy, and execution of AI/ML/GenAI initiatives, fostering innovations such as Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI (GenAI) integration.

Responsibilities

• Leadership & Team Management: Mentor and lead a cross-functional AI/ML team while promoting a collaborative community culture.
• AI/ML Strategy & Implementation: Develop scalable AI/ML solutions, integrate LLMs and GenAI to enhance personalization and efficiency.
• Data Infrastructure & Architecture: Oversee robust data pipelines and architecture, ensuring effective data processing and analytics.
• Collaboration & Partnerships: Work with product, engineering, and business teams to deliver impactful solutions.
• Community & Reporting: Foster knowledge sharing and report KPIs and project progress to senior leadership.

Qualifications

Applicants should have 10+ years of experience in AI/ML or data engineering (with 3+ years in leadership). Proven expertise in machine learning algorithms, data pipelines, LLMs, GenAI, cloud technologies, and modern data stack solutions is required. Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences are essential.

Preferred Requirements

Experience with embedded data engineering, familiarity with data privacy regulations, and a background in food-tech or consumer goods are a plus.

Compensation

Pay range: $200,000—$220,000 CAD, determined based on experience and internal equity.
