Overview
This is a 12-week paid internship located in Bloomington, Indiana supporting the initiatives of the Materials Science team at Cook Medical. The internship runs from mid-May through mid-August (dates vary by school calendar). Benefits include 401(k) options, an assigned mentor, capstone presentation, intern events, onsite fitness center and cafeteria (if working onsite), and a one-time housing stipend.
Responsibilities
- Follow procedures pertinent to tasks being performed.
- Provide support to Materials Science team members as needed.
- Quickly learn about project background and objectives.
- Coordinate resources to meet project needs and deadlines.
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation.
Qualifications
Applicants must be a college or university student (Junior or Senior preferred) working toward a bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry. Graduate students are also considered. A minimum GPA of 3.0 and proof of enrollment in an accredited institution is required. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Physical Requirements
This position may require extended periods of sitting, close visual work with computers and equipment, and possibly the use of personal protective equipment like safety glasses, lab coats, and gloves. Reasonable accommodations will be made under the ADA.
