General Overview
The Cook County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a full time Research Analyst to assist the Executive Director of Research in producing timely, data-driven analyses for various CCSO operations, including individuals in custody, staffing, and law enforcement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare statistical reports to guide CCSO policies.
- Analyze data of individuals in custody and classification needs.
- Evaluate Sheriff’s Office programs including grant funded initiatives.
- Conduct data research from multiple justice system stakeholders.
- Document processes, prepare detailed reports and presentations.
- Perform administrative functions including data verification and filing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficient with databases and statistical software (R, STATA, SAS, Python) and Microsoft Office tools. Excellent report writing, data cleaning, analysis, documentation, and administrative skills are required, along with strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Statistics or a related field, with at least one year of experience using statistical software. A graduate degree and experience in criminal justice systems are preferred.
