The Data Steward will collaborate across business, operations, and technology teams to enforce standards, remediate data issues, and continuously improve data processes. By maintaining trusted, standardized, and enriched data, Data Stewards enable consistent reporting, streamlined processes, stronger compliance, and more reliable decision-making across the business.
Governance & Compliance
This role involves enforcing enterprise data governance policies, standards, and naming conventions. Key responsibilities include reviewing, validating, and approving records for activation to ensure compliance. The Data Steward will validate and remediate Salesforce records, ensuring accuracy and completeness of compliance fields according to regulatory requirements, including contractual, customer credit, and trade compliance checks. Managerial courage is needed to actively engage in the remediation of non-compliant requests and escalate repeated or deliberate non-compliance and data-related risks to management.
Data Quality & Integrity
The Data Steward will safeguard data quality by validating accuracy, completeness, and consistency across master data, integrations, and account hierarchies. This includes performing ongoing audits, cleansing, and de-duplication to maintain data integrity and trusted, reliable source records. The role also involves acting as a liaison between technology, administrative, operations, and sales teams to resolve data-related issues and ensure consistent governance practices.
Business Insights & Continuous Improvement
Collaboration with global business teams, vertical markets, local business users, and the data governance council is essential to identify new requirements and improve data management practices. The Data Steward will provide insights from stewardship activities to recommend enhancements to processes, policies, and technology, thereby strengthening data quality and usability. Partnership with Organizational Change Management (OCM) and Learning & Development (L&D) teams will help embed adoption of standards and best practices globally.
Business Enablement & Ongoing Support
This position requires guiding users on proper data entry standards and best practices to promote consistent data integrity, leading to accurate reporting and customer insights. Active participation in data migrations, integrations, and reporting initiatives, including preparing, validating, and reconciling data, is expected to ensure timely and accurate information availability.
