About the Role
The Digital Forensic Analyst at Contact Discovery Services is a critical role in a leading eDiscovery technology and consulting firm. This position involves conducting forensic data collections and analysis in both remote and on-site settings, working closely with legal teams and IT departments, and managing chain of custody in compliance with evidence rules.
Key Duties
- Perform forensic data collections and forensic analysis on various devices.
- Coordinate with legal teams and client IT departments to scope projects.
- Maintain and update forensic tools and workflows.
- Collaborate with project management and team members in a deadline-driven environment.
- Document forensic processes and ensure chain of custody best practices.
- Perform quality checks on work products before delivery.
- Travel for on-site data collection and work from the in-office forensics lab and data center as needed.
- Assist with general IT functions and train other team members.
Experience & Qualifications
Candidates should have an undergraduate degree in Digital Forensic Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields and a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience. Proficiency in forensic tools (Axiom, EnCase, Cellebrite, FTK Imager, Digital Collector) and knowledge of Mac/Windows filesystems, mobile devices, and encryption are essential.
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of the electronic discovery reference model (EDRM).
- Possession of industry standard certifications (e.g., EnCE, CCE, GCFE).
- Experience with litigation support applications and data analysis/scripting.
- Familiarity with Active Directory and various scripting/programming languages.
