Job Overview
The Credit Analyst reports to the Credit Manager and is responsible for the effective administration of credit and collection performance. The role includes investigation and review of credit and financial data on both domestic and foreign customers, managing account collections, monitoring accounts, and ensuring compliance with policy and legal statutes.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze dealer orders from hold queues.
- Evaluate new account documentation including credit applications and financial statements.
- Perform annual or as-needed financial and credit analysis.
- Interpret financial statements and tax returns to make credit decisions.
- Enforce collection policies and negotiate payment plans.
- Reconcile and resolve account discrepancies timely.
- Recommend write-offs and adjustments within guidelines.
- Prepare written assessments and recommendations for account actions.
- Assist in special projects as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Minimum associate degree required.
- 2-5 years experience in credit and collections, preferably in manufacturing or wholesale credit environment.
- Strong communication and persuasive skills with effective professionalism.
- Good understanding of credit, collections, banking, and commercial law.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
- Ability to work in complex situations with accuracy and organization.
- Long periods of sedentary work with repetitive keyboarding and telephone use.
